There seems to be abundant fashion shows going ard in Klang Valley this year, which is a good thing for somebody who likes to take glamour shots like urs truly . Here again, more fashion shots taken at One Utama Shopping Mall on Sunday, 10/10/2004. Organiser was good enuf to prepare a special area for photogs to sit down, relax and concentrate on shooting! Had a wonderful time shooting at this event and best of all is managed to get to know a few local photography enthutiasts in person!

My DIY Focusing Test

Tack sharp!!
Back focus!!!
still back focus!!!
Finally, I have done some focus accuracy test on my lenses. Not sure why it took me so long to do the test, maybe i was too scared to find out the 'truth'!

Anyway... this is just my very own 'non-professional' DIY focussing test. So, it might NOT be 100% accurate, but then it should just be good enuf to identify which lens of mine is giving back/front focusing.

The result summary:
Note: All test couducted with camera mounted on tripod, ISO value of 400. Widest aperture value available for each case is being used.

EF 50mm f1.8 II - tack sharp!
EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM - focus okay throughout the zoom range! but pic a bit soft....
EFS 17-55mm f3.5-5.6 - a bit back focus on the 17mm end.. but sharp at the end of the zoom range
EF 70-200mm f4 L USM - badly back focus from 70mm - 135mm range! gradually decrease back focusing towards the other end of the zoom.

Sigh.... my most expensive lens proved to be the one having biggest problem!! Definately need to send back to canon service center for recalibration liao....

Chinese Acrobat Performance

Spend the whole weekend doing window shopping again...

Oh well... at least this time get to see some chinese acrobat performance in conjunction with the coming Mooncake Festival.

This was taken @ One Utama Shopping complex. Lighting was terrible, but the new 50mm 1.8 really save the day! Now.... GIMME ALL THE 2.8!!!!

Finally bought myself the 50mm f1.8

Only one thing I regret after buying the lens, I should have bought it much earlier!! Live up to all the compliments it gets, amazingly value-for-money!

After getting it from Sungai Wang Plaza, immediately tested it in Yamaha Motorbike Show @ Berjaya Times Square.

However, decided to post this photo of my gf instead.

I just luv the bokeh created using this lens... Oh man... now i wish i could afford all the f2.8!!!
